maybe we all just need to start talking

some humans take risks
some humans do things out of love that makes no sense
they compromise in a good way, they become better
you consider someone else’s joy.
change is scary but love has more potential
potential for change and change for good.
vulnerability and openess maybe that’s the solution
some humans will endure and persevere would want to do things long term
some humans will battle everyday for the ones they love for a future they believe in, to be together

rune rememberance

not being able to tell the woman you love that you love her, that’s that’s new kind of pain.
it’s as hard as I thought it would be, maybe a bit more.
all good things.. why must they end.
it’s just heart wrenching.
really good motivation for writing sad sappy lyrics though.

Amma never explained why that I had to dress appropriately, nor that I can’t travel at night just that I had to do it.

The truth of even getting to school can be of pain, misery and discomfort. actually just about getting anyway, why do they stare.

is that a bad touch? maybe somebody needs to explain better and louder to all.

do you think if I dress like that or wear more makeup I’ll look better, arrrgh I’m soo fat..

wait what, does he really expect me to bend over for him.

Another year passes and another day of remembrance, what we have been through. The struggles, the harsh reality of growing up and just the fact of being born a woman.

Another year passes and another day of support to all the women and children, in the day to day, support in their growing and learning, in their ideas, goals and businesses. Support their strengths, teach them from your experience, grow together.

Another year passes and another day of celebration, what we have achieved. We have seen the examples of world leaders battling the pandemic and carrying their child. We have seen women standing up for truth and justice. We can celebrate women traveling to the depths of the sea to the peaks of the mountains, protecting our home. we have seen women dedicated to their work and their goals, setting new standards and breaking down boundaries.

Another year passes and another day of observance, to the inequalities, to the harassment, to the abuse, maybe the next year we won’t just observe but do something about it.

Another year passes and another day of acknowledgement and even just a reminder of what we still need to fight for a safer, secure & just society for all.

I remember something you said that you were trying to find closure in all of this.
How is that going for you
